WRITING COURSES
Martin currently runs the courses ‘Novel Writing and Longer Works’ at City, University of London, and ‘Short Stories and First Chapters’ at Imperial College London. He has taught for the British Council, Arts Council England, at Kingston University, UEA, Leighton House Museum, and elsewhere. He also provides 1-to-1 mentoring sessions, and delivers independent courses at various times of the year, including an established and ongoing ‘mentored writing circle’ for which places occasionally become available to new members. Get in touch if you would like to know more about any of these individual sessions, courses or groups.
Martin says: My article ‘How writers benefit from creative writing courses’ features in the 2023, 2024 and 2025 editions of the Writers’ & Artists’ Yearbook – available in bookshops and online. Through this piece, you’ll gain a sense of how I guide my students / group members towards the results they desire.
My courses and mentoring programmes (see Mentoring, below) are suitable for all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced/professional. For further information, give me a call or drop me a line through the form at the bottom of the page.
